Homes and businesses in West Yorkshire have been flooded as Storm Ciara brought heavy rain.

In West Yorkshire, there were reported floods, as seen here in Swillington, Ledston, Kippax and Barnsdale Road between Castleford and Allerton Bywater, well known for flooding and which became flooded today.

Although many of the flooded roads weren't closed, motorists determined to get to their destinations took the risk to drive through, while others looked for an alternative route.

Some became stuck after their vehicles cut out and were rescued by local samaritans in 4x4s.

The UK was battered by Storm Ciara today (Sunday 9th Feb) bringing high winds and torrential rain to the country.
