City Council Member Ruben Diaz, Sr. held a rally at the 41st precinct in Bronx, New York after two cops were shot within 12 hours this weekend. They speak, criticize New York's new bail reform policies, criticize Mayor Bill DeBlasio, and hold a prayer for the 41st precinct.
Last night a gunman asked two police officers sitting in a van for directions before opening fire and hitting one of the officers in the neck. This morning, the same gunman walked into the 41st precinct and opened fire, striking one police lieutenant. The officer was released from the hospital today, the lieutenant is still in the hospital. The gunman was taken into custody and is currently in a mental hospital and being evaluated.
