A wheelchair-bound man was taken on a tour of his own home via the goggles connected to a first-person view (FPV) drone controlled by his nephew.

Footage captured in Provo, Utah on April 17 shows the drone being flown from the front yard through the door where we see the filmer's uncle with the goggles on in the front room then subsequently goes upstairs and back outside.

The uncle has been in a wheelchair for three years and was diagnosed with ALS - commonly known as motor neurone disease - a year before.

The filmer told Newsflare: "I got an extra pair of VR goggles and put them on my uncle so he could see the first-person view from my drone.

"What you see here is a recording of the goggle feed.

"It was a special experience for me to get to share the sensation of flight and exploration with him.

"He was diagnosed with ALS four years ago and has been an inspiration to me and many others of a positive outlook in the face of diversity.

"He is probably the funniest person I know.

"So glad I got to show him some parts of his house he had never seen before!"
