Special baby Woolly Monkey plays with a plant

This adorable baby Woolly Monkey became an orphan when she was very little, and was taken to be sold in the black market. Luckily, she was rescued and has been living at a rescue center ever since, a place where she will, unfortunately, have to spend the rest of her life, since she wouldn't in the wild. She is a special monkey, barely behaving like a monkey at all. While monkeys are very active, playful, and love running and jumping around, and climbing everything, she is afraid of heights, very quiet and is terrified of everything. For about almost two months after her rescue, she would spend most of her time curled up somewhere, would scream if looked at, and pee and poop if anyone tried to approach her. She didn't run, jump, or play... It took her two weeks to start trusting her human foster mom, and two more weeks to finally start showing improvement! She wasn't as terrified anymore, and started acting more like a monkey, starting to explore her surroundings, and even play! Maybe one day she will be like other monkeys… we can't know whether she was born this way or it was the trauma in her early days that affected her brain… but she is making progress and that's what matters!
