Hundreds of people gathered at the Pacific Place mall in Admiralty on Monday evening to mark one year since the death of an anti-extradition protester there.

Leung Ling-kit plunged to his death from a platform outside the mall, where he had been hanging a banner in opposition to attempts to change the extradition law.

Black-clad mourners wearing white ribbons started gathering at the upscale mall at around 6pm, chanting protest slogans now and again.

Outside, a large group of people waited patiently to lay down flowers by where Leung fell.

A student stuck a yellow raincoat like the one Leung had been wearing, onto an ad next a bus stop there.

One mourner told RTHK the crowds at Admiralty proved that people haven’t forgotten about Leung.
