Anti-government protesters gathered at the Ratchathewi junction in Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday night (October 21).

Busy intersections, subway stations and train stations have become focal points for "flash mob" style crowds to voice their anger.

Earlier in the evening, thousands of demonstrators gathered at the Victory Monument in the centre of the capital of Thailand on the eighth consecutive day of anti-establishment rallies.

The movement calling for democratic reforms has surged in recent weeks with rallies being held every day since last Tuesday (October 13). It has lead to regular clashes between protesters and police - with chemical-laced water being blasted at the crowds last Friday.
