Halloween chaos as youths set off dozens of fireworks in Woolwich town centre

Dozens of fireworks were set off in Woolwich town centre, southeast London, on Halloween evening (October 31) causing chaos in the area.

Police were on the scene urging people to leave the area as groups of youths were seen running away from lit fireworks at approximately 7:30pm on Saturday evening.

It is illegal to set off fireworks in the street in the UK. You can be fined up to £5,000 and imprisoned for up to 6 months for selling or using fireworks illegally. You could also get an on-the-spot fine of £90.
