Two pedestrians were pinned under a three-wheeler knocked over by an out-of-control car in southwestern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Shuifu in Yunnan Province on November 6, shows a white car suddenly smashing into a parked three-wheeler when the driver pressed the accelerator by mistake, knocking it over onto two pedestrians.

Nearby people lifted the three-wheeler up to free the two people trapped under it.

According to reports, a blue three-wheeler illegally turned around causing the motorist making a phone call in her car while driving getting nervous and pressing the accelerator instead of the brake by mistake.

One pedestrian named Wang suffered fractures to his right hand and the other pedestrian named Zhao had soft tissue injuries to his head. However none of them were in life-threatening condition.

None of the five people in the car were injured. The motorist was fined and deducted point from her licence. The blue three-wheeler took secondary responsibility and was detained temporarily.

The case is under investigation and the video was provided by local media with permission.
