A brass band played jazz and crowds danced during the latest anti-government protests today (November 14) in Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage from the Democracy Monument in the centre of Bangkok shows the colourful scene, with demonstrators dancing, skateboarding and delivering speeches and performances.

They called it 'Mob Fest' and LGBT and sex work activists were also at the protest alongside students and opposition groups. A small group of pro-monarchy royal supporters wearing yellow shirts gathered on the outskirts.

Thousands of protesters gathered across the city calling for the country's prime minister to resign. Officials said that 5,000 police had been assigned to control the events, with four rallies taking place across Bangkok.

There were three other demonstrations taking place in other parts of Bangkok, including a rally aimed at tackling perceived gender inequality and another at the Education Ministry on Ratchadamnoen Avenue where activists are criticising the astonishingly bad levels of education in the country.

Thousands of protests have taken place in recent months across Thailand. Activists are calling for a new constitution, the resignation of the prime minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha and reforms of the monarchy.
