Trafalgar Square in London was lit up this evening (November 14th) in celebration of the Hindu festival of Diwali.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, the square was cordoned off so there were no spectators.

Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance."

London iconic statues in Trafalgar Square were lit up in a spectacular lighting display which was organised by London's mayor Sadiq Khan to celebrate, Diwali celebrated by Hindus Indian festival of lights which takes place every November 14.

Unfortunately, due to lockdown, there were not many spectators, The Square was also cordoned off from the public.

This activity was one of a number of other displays across the UK to mark Diwali.
