On Tuesday (November 17) Thailand police fired at least 10 shots from water cannon trucks at protesters, trying to deter them from getting close to parliament. Some of the high-powered water jets were laced with dye and tear gas. Tear gas canisters were also fired but some protesters tossed it right back at police causing some officers without gas masks to feel the full effects. After more than 4 months of regular protests, this has to be the most serious action police has taken against protesters who tried to break through barricades to get to front of parliament where parliamentarians were debating draft bills on constitutional amendment. The protesters eventually made it to front of the parliament building.
