POLICE USING TEAR GAS AND WATER CANNON TO DISPERSE CROWDBERN, SWITZERLAND OCTOBER 11: A scuffle broke out between police and demonstrators during a pro-Palestine rally in the Swiss city of Bern. On Saturday, more than 2,000 people gathered in the city center and marched toward the Federal Palace to protest Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip. Police set up barricades in front of the parliament building. When some masked protesters began acting aggressively and tried to break through the barricades, police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd. Additional police units from other cantons were dispatched to the scene, while firefighters intervened to extinguish a small fire caused by fireworks set off by the protesters. Police reported property damage and announced that no further marches would be allowed in the city center.
