Homemade Slip 'N Slide leads to Guinness World Record attempt, dangerously fun times
Joel Dustin, an engineering student in Idaho, has an unforgettable and potentially record-breaking summer lockdown story to tell. Armed with the support of his friends and family, he built a massive Slip 'N Slide near his parents' home that resulted in a Guinness World Record attempt being registered.
With life thrown out of gear and not much to do Dustin and his relatives decided to complete the slide.
Speaking about the support of family Dustin said: "Honestly they did a super job, and my parents even bought the tarps we needed to ride it all the way. Once it was relatively safe, we had water park days where everyone would ride it. Honestly, we were just building a slip-n-slide and the record was just kind of a side thing. But it’s super cool that we got the application in."
The record attempted by Dustin is for the fasted 100 meter Slip 'N Slide. According to Dustin, and as documented by the Bonneville County sheriff’s Department, he clocked out at 10.4 seconds. Dustin expects to hear back from Guinness World Record about his record in January. Regardless of the results, it’s safe to say Dustin will always have an lockdown story to share.
