Demonstrators took the streets of the capital in the third day of protests following the murder of Klodian Rasha, a 25-year old man, shot by a police officer.
Amid calls for the resignation of general chief of police, Ardi Veliu, protesters marched through the boulevard and arrived at the Prime Minister’s Office around 6 PM, where they were met by increased police presence.
Rising tensions were noted since the early moments of today’s protest as police forces used water cannons and tear gas in order to impede the crowd from gathering in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Protesters shifted towards the Blloku district where once again they were met by police officers who continuously pressured demonstrators from gathering into large groups. The protest lasted for 3 hours.
