Demonstrators in Albania took to the streets of the capital Tirana after a 25-year-old was killed at the hands of police while breaking coronavirus restrictions on Tuesday (December 8).

Footage from December 10 shows bins set on fire as well as riot police in full gear.

The widespread anger comes in the wake of the fatal shooting of Klodian Rasha by police.

the protest was dispersed across the city beginning from the Ministry of Interior, crossing into the capital’s main boulevard to the Blloku area, while rioters set fire to garbage bins and throwing rocks and firecrackers to police forces dispatched at various locations.
Violent clashes erupted as police forces intervened to disperse the crowd, reportedly firing tear gas and shooting water cannons.
