Armed forces cleaned up heavy snow on an highway in Japan to free over 1,000 people trapped on it overnight.
The video shows the self-defence forces using a snowplough to clean up the heavy snow covered on the Kanetsu Expressway.
The filmer was driving from Saitama to Niigata for work and got trapped on the snow-covered highway for over 41 hours.
Members of the self-defence forces delivered food, blankets and fuel to motorists who were forced to sleep overnight in their cars.
The record snowfall in central Japan and along the northern coast also caused around 10,000 households to suffer power cuts.
