Heathrow Airport was left in chaos as hundreds attempted to board last-minute flights before COVID-19 travel bans were enforced on December 20.

Footage filmed by @blathhnaid and @gavmulhern shows hordes of hopefuls trying to catch flights ahead of travel bans announced by European countries.

In Ireland, from midnight (December 21), flights and ferries from the UK were banned for the next 48 hours. Many other countries, including France, Germany, and so on joined Ireland as PM Johnson announced that the new COVID19 virus was up to 70% more contagious.
