Air India all-women crew sets record for 17 hour non-stop flight

The All-Women Air India cockpit crew, led by Captain Zoyal Aggarwal, set a national record by performing the first San Francisco-Bengaluru flight, an estimated distance of 16,000 kilometres.

Flight AI176's route took them from San Francisco at 8:30pm over the North Pole and north Atlantic on Saturday (January 9), and arriving at the Karnataka state capital at 3:45am on Monday (January 11).

Air India claims this is the longest commercial to be operated by any Indian airline.

There was a huge crowd of people gathered at the Bengaluru International airport to receive and congratulate them for setting a new record. The crew thanked the crowd at the airport amid the cheers and clapping,
