Anti HS2 activists have been camping opposite the compound for years as they try to protect HS2 from cutting down yet more trees. Many local residents are furious about the HS2 construction noise, dust and devastation to the countryside. 693 wildlife sites, 108 ancient woodlands and 33 Sites of Special Scientific Interest are at risk from HS2
