Time-lapse footage of trees springing back to life in a Texas backyard is incredibly satisfying
An incredible 10-hour time-lapse video has captured trees in a Texas backyard thawing out and coming back to life after the brutal snowstorm. The footage was captured by Letty Garcia in the Brushy Creek area on February 20.
Resting snow and ice from the recent storm had caused the limbs of a large oak tree in her backyard to get weighed down. Also covered by the snow and hanging over the fence was the neighbor’s bamboo, which usually stands nearly two stories tall.
Letty spent the week studying the weather and identified a warm day to potentially capture the event. She set up the camera before heading out to work and managed to capture this incredible 10-hour time-lapse.
Speaking about the video Letty said: “Texas experienced a brutal winter storm last week that was devastating to many. The ice and snow had weighed down the limbs of our very large oak tree and the bamboo from our neighbors’ yard basically woke up hanging over the fence into our backyard.
I was looking at all this from our second-floor window. The bamboo usually stands as tall as the second floor of our home. It was as I was standing there, that I thought it would be really cool to see these spring back to life. I spent the week studying the weather and figured out which day and time would be the best to set the camera up. Luckily, it warmed up nicely and gradually. The time lapse ran for about 10 hours while I was at work. This video was the result.”
