In the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva, people were out having fun last Saturday (April 24) without wearing any masks.

Israel has recorded no new daily COVID-19 deaths for the first time in 10 months, as the country pushes ahead with its speedy vaccination drive.

But while Israel has surged ahead with its vaccination programme, the Palestinian occupied territories are still lagging behind.

Further footage shows locals enjoying a barbecue in Jerusalem's Sacher Park on Independence Day (April 14).

COVID-19 levels have plummeted and many believe Israel is close to reaching a sort of herd immunity due to such high vaccination levels in addition to those that have recovered from Coronavirus. On Israel's Independence Day, with masks no longer necessary outside, the scene looked "normal" as Israelis across the country took part in the national pastime - BBQ! In this video, Israelis celebrate and enjoy the weather in Jerusalem's Sacher Park.
