Jewish followers held an outdoor sabbath prayer during the Yom Kippur holy day in Jerusalem as Israel's renewed lockdown left the city's street empty on September 28.

Devotees were seen praying in the quiet streets after the Israeli government renewed lockdown measures to curb the surging of Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.

Under the new policy, businesses are to remain shut with exceptions to companies categorized as 'essential' by the Defense Ministry’s National Emergency Authority.

Citizens are also barred from travelling more than a kilometre from their residences.

Commuters were seen enjoying the peaceful streets to stroll and bike along routes that were normally busy.
