Indonesian Navy intercepted and seized 100 kg of methamphetamine contraband from Malaysia

The Navy has arrested two people who were allegedly involved in an international drug trafficking network.

They were arrested with evidence of methamphetamine and ecstasy pills weighing more than 100 pounds.

The arrest occured on Sunday (18/4) at approximately 00.45 local time by Navy officers.

In addition, the ship, skipper and CREW, and evidence were escorted to the Belavan Navy for further investigation in cooperation with the Office of the Customs and Excise Laboratory, Medan Class II.

Coarmad And Laxaman Commander Muda TNI, Rashid explained that both officers found evidence in a bag that contains 87 packages of narcotic methamphetamine weighing 92,512 kg and an estimated 61,378 ecstasy tablets weighing 18,413 kg, that is, a total of 110,925 kg, which are wrapped in newspaper.

The drugs came from Malaysia, it was planned to be sold in the Tanjung Balai region.

In addition, officers also seized a mobile phone, wallet and cash worth Rs 342,000.
