These videos were filmed in a hospital named KGMC (King George Medical College). It’s located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India and is known to be one of the best government hospitals in Lucknow. Ashutosh, author of the video shared his story. He said «The situation here is bad. People are lying outside the hospital with no medical support as there are no beds available for them. And people who got admitted are treated as if their life had no value. My father was firstly tested negative in the RT PCR test, but they kept him in a ward with four COVID-positive patients. My father had a history of lung disease and till that time it was his only problem. I requested them a lot to move my father in a different ward and send him to the KCH department (chest specialisation department with no covid patients) but doctors said that there were no beds available. I went there to take a look and saw many free beds. After a lot of struggle they transferred my father to a different ward where i filmed these videos. Later I learned that the patients lying there were also covid-positive. In the video you can see a man sitting with a balloon mask, that is my father. You can see that how dirty that place was: used cottons, decaying and smelling food in the dustbins, used bloody syringes, wrappers, etc. You can hear me asking a nurse to clean all this, and her replying "it’s a dirty place, so what? It’s not your house, let it be as it is". I said "ma’am, please just call the cleaners and let them clean all this" then she replied "you can clean it yourself or go and find the cleaners and make them clean it". She was rude to me. After two days in that ward my father got infected. His condition kept getting worse and when he was shifted on the ventilator, doctors did another RT CPR test and it was positive. When a patient is tested positive then he/she has to be shifted in the covid center of that hospital. It took them 2 days to do that for my father. They kept on saying there are no beds in the covid center, but I saw with my own eyes that there was a whole floor with 50+ empty beds. There is a protocol which states that no visitors are allowed in the covid center. But doctors ignore it and let families stay with patients and even perform medical procedures because of lack of staff. No proper care was provided to regular patients in difficult condition, but someone with connections or high authority was the first priority of the doctors and nurses even if his/her condition wasn’t that serious. For 2 days they were hiding the fact, that the medicine and equipment my father needed was out of stock. I bought everything myself. Doctors taught me how to perform medical procedures, that were complicated for a person without medical education, and said I had to do it myself 3-4 times a day. I did everthing correctly as they told me to, but still I lost my father due to these government protocols, terrible medical facilities, terrible behaviour towards a patient. They are not curing patients, they are just making more people get sick. The death numbers that are shown in the news are nothing. People are waiting for days just for the crimination of their loved ones. The government is saying many things but does nothing. No one is there to help the people. They are on their own now. They can't go anywhere, they can't do anything to save their lives».
