House of Dragon location filming at the iconic St Michael`s mount fortified house. Under tight security Warnermedia hopes to keep the elaborate sets and impressive cast at arms length from observers. This prequel to Game of Thrones starts some 300 years prior to the popular series which has now ended. It charts the decline of the house of Targaryen from its peak with 15 dragons. This chain of events begins when King Viserys breaks from tradition by naming his daughter Rhaenyra as his heir over his son Daemon. Matt smith plays Prince Daemon Targaryen and Emma D`Arcy plays Rhaenyra Targaryen. St Michaels mount is a popular tourist attraction maintained by the National Trust charity. It is also the current and ancestral home of Baron St Levan and his family, who do actually live there. The island can be reached on foot by a half mile tidal causeway or by an amphibious tractor at other times.
