The police insulated vehicles that prohibited homecoming on the Bekasi alternative route from Jakarta on the first day of the 2021 Lebaran homecoming ban.

Several cars were stopped and checked for eligibility to cross this route. If the driver of the car or motorbike is proven to want to go home, the police will ask the driver to make a U-turn.

Motorists are allowed to pass if they are carrying an exit and entry permit to Jakarta, or a letter of assignment or a certificate from the village head or regional head for the general public.

The Indonesian government has imposed a ban on going home from May 6 to 17, 2021. This has been implemented to reduce the number of Covid-19 cases.
