A family in Girilambone, Australia, who was homeless for seven months have finally found a their own house.

Sarah Mills, 35, filmed as she took her kids to a house and revealed that is was their new home.

Mills said: "We became homeless due to the rental crisis growing in Australia. Too many applicants and not enough homes. We spent over 30 grand on motels and cabins spending over 7 months homeless.

"It was the most mentally draining experience we’ve ever lived through. All of the children have autism so the lack of structure and stability was hell."

The emotional moment saw all three kids hug their mum as they realised they weren't homeless anymore.

Mills added: "When I found out we got approved I wanted to surprise the kids so I kept it a secret. Two nights before we got the keys we ordered Chinese and got fortune cookies.

"Hendrix, my eldest son, had said 'your wish is coming true'. He burst into tears excited saying the only thing he’s been wishing for was a house. I decided to frame the fortune and told the kids we were visiting one of my friends quickly.

"When my friend opened the door she showed the kids the fortune before I told them it was our new home. They were in shock all night.

"The kids have settled in extremely well. They still can’t believe we finally have a house and haven’t stopped smiling yet. Each day they tell me how thankful they are now they have a home again."

This footage was filmed in late April.
