The artist wrote: "This smart car was carved by me. I, Simone Riccardo, am a self-taught artist who has been working with wood since I was 16."

When asked to share some details about the stellar piece of art in question, Simone replied: "I carved the Smart Pure for my uncle, who recently threw away his smart car."

He added: "This sculpture, made of cedar wood, was supposed to be a kind of headstone because sometimes, a picture does not help a person fully recall the memories as well as a real and three-dimensional object can."
