A family was startled by the emergence of a hungry bear on the second-floor deck of the cabin they were staying at.

This captivating video was taken by Billy Heft at the Big Bear Lodge in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

"It was supposed to be a typical vacation morning when we encountered something extremely strange," the filmer wrote. "We watched a bear make its way to the second story deck and steal food."

He added: "The whole family, safely locked inside, managed to capture this surprising scene while the bear carefully checked the leftovers and found a toast for itself. Unfortunately, the coffee turned out to be too hot for its liking."

Eventually, the couple decides to call the people in charge of the lodge to get help with the situation.

After fetching the toast, the bear realized that it was trapped on the deck and there was no way for it to go down except for, as the filmer suggested, committing suicide.

Eventually, the couple decides to call the person/people in charge of the lodge to get help with the un-BEAR-able situation.
