This furry creature showed off his OTTER-EGO as his friendly facial expression turned to anger in a matter of seconds.

The otter seemed in good spirits at first, cheekily sticking his tongue out as he hunted for fish.

But as he got his claws into his next meal, his friendly face quickly turned into a fierce frown.

Bushcraft expert and presenter Will Hall captured the Jekyll and Hyde moment while tracking the otter around Loch Scridain on the Isle of Mull, off the west coast of Scotland.

Describing the moment that the otter's instinct kicked in, Will, 27 said: "It was an adrenaline-fueled moment the moment he saw the fish, he went from calm and cute, to a well-skilled predator that was a terrifying beast for that fish. It was thrilling to watch."

Will, from Inverness, spent more than three hours waiting for the otter to surface, before finally sighting him on the south side of the island.

He added: “He came towards me and brought a really big fish with him.

“Then, it was just starting to rain, and I was packing up. All of a sudden there was a giant splash and there he was again, this time he had caught a giant two feet long dog fish.”

After pulling the huge fish from the water, the otter dragged it to the shore of the loch and tore it apart in its teeth.

Fish is an otter’s main source of food and they spend several hours a day hunting.

Otters have very high metabolic rates in order to keep them warm during long days in cold water.

They must eat around 15 percent of their own body weight in fish every day - a rate which increases during the winter months.

The otters of Mull are Eurasian otters, the only species of otter which lives in the UK.

The area is a perfect habitat for otters and boast among the highest populations of the creatures in the UK.
