A partial lunar eclipse is seen from Tokyo on Friday evening (November 19). The natural phenomenon was visible all over Japan.

Shortly after 6pm local time, about 98 percent of the Moon's diameter was covered, local media reported. The lunar eclipse ended shortly before 8pm. The near total lunar eclipse coinciding with the full moon was the longest event of its kind for nearly 600 years, with skywatchers in the Americas and East Asia getting a particularly good view.
