UK driver loses control of vehicle and rips off bumper
Uploaded by a Newsflare content partner
Newly released dashcam footage from the UK shows a reversing car hit another vehicle and then rip their own bumper off before backing into a bollard.
Arthur Russ, 64, captured the dash camera footage in November 2019 but has only recently uploaded the footage due to insurance companies reviewing the clip.
In the supermarket car park in Staple Hill, Bristol, an elderly woman was attempting to reverse out but accidentally floored the accelerator causing the car to whip around aggressively which caused the collision.
In the process, the Seat car hooked its bumper onto Russ's vehicle causing it to completely rip away from the body as the person lost control and backed into a bollard.
"I felt a little sorry for the other driver in that she was an elderly lady who only just got her brand new ‘mobility’ car a few hours earlier, and as the result of the accident it was a right-off," said Russ.
"When reversing she accidentally put her foot full on the accelerator instead of the brake," he added.
