This is the heartwarming moment an owl stuck in a net was rescued.

The bird flew into the material used to contain chickens in a back garden in Nakhon Nayok province, Thailand during the night on December 15.

Locals found the struggling nocturnal creature the next morning. It had been tangled in the black mesh for several hours and appeared weak.

Non Nomsod and his friend spent 20 minutes untangling the owl before releasing it. Footage shows how the bird waddled off into undergrowth to recover.

Non said: 'When we found the owl it was trying to free itself from the net but it was stuck. There was no way it could release itself.

'The owl was probably flying quite low, quite near to the ground when it hit the net. I think it could have been stuck all night.

'I'm happy we were there to free the owl so it could return to its family.'

Non said the owl spent several minutes in the bushes but later had flew away.
