Terrifying footage has emerged of the moment a high-sided truck overturned near Oxford, UK, during Storm Eunice on Friday (February 18).

The giant truck was toppled on the motorway by high winds, right after a van drove past it.

The moment was captured on dashcam footage by driver Ben Handy of TLC Transport Services Ltd.

It was recorded as he was travelling northbound on the M40 near Oxford.

TLC Director Chris Nelson said that the winds meant his company had to postpone all deliveries in the south of the UK that day.

"Whilst this was a little frustrating it was definitely the correct action to take," Nelson said.

"We did, however, receive a couple of calls from potential ‘new’ businesses requesting loads in heavily affected parts of Devon and Sussex. Due to today's weather conditions and driver safety, we advised both callers we were unfortunately unable to provide the service they required.

"One of the businesses completely understood and showed an emphatic tone to our response.

"The other unfortunately responded with an angry tone, 'it’s only a bit of wind!'

"Fast forward an hour to TLC’s Ben Handy driving up the M40 towards Banbury and this happened …"

Fortunately, there were no injuries.

"Other than being very shaken up, thankfully the driver, with assistance from another member of the public, was able to get safely free of the cabin," Nelson said.

"This could’ve been so much worse!"
