British Airways flight aborts landing at Birmingham Airport in strong Storm Franklin crosswinds

This is the scary moment a British Airways pilot aborted his landing at Birmingham’s BHX Airport in 40mph Storm Franklin winds on February 21.

The plane from Belfast to Birmingham was seen crabbing into the crosswind before the first attempted landing until it powered up at the last moment and ‘went around’ before trying again.

On its second attempted, the pilots managed to touchdown, despite a rocky landing.

The 07.55 flight arrived an hour later than expected at 08.56.

Storm Franklin is the third storm to hit the United Kingdom in a week bringing more heavy rain, flooding and strong winds to an already battered country.
