A month into the war in Ukraine, Russian supplies of food, ammunition and fuel could run out within three days, the Ukrainian general staff of the armed forces has claimed, according to reports in the UK media.

"According to available information, the Russian occupation forces operating in Ukraine have stockpiles of ammunition and food for no more than three days,” the armed forces official said in a statement, as reported by the Independent. “The situation is similar with fuel, which is replenished by tank trucks. The occupiers were unable to organise a pipeline to meet the needs of the grouping of troops.”

Video shows the remains of Russian military vehicles including tanks destroyed by the Ukrainian army on the outskirts of Kherson, southern Ukraine on March 4.

Russian forces gained full control of the strategically important port city of Kherson early on in the conflict. It was one of the first cities to fall to the Russians but pro-Ukrainian demonstrations have taken place in recent days. Russians have responded by firing shots at protesters.
