Residents in Shanghai, China, queue to get COVID-19 tests during their 14-day quarantine period.

Footage from Tuesday (March 15) shows residents in a community where there have been confirmed positive cases queuing to receive their tests.

Supplies are delivered to the building every hour between 8 am and 8 pm by volunteers.

According to the local authority, all residents in the quarantined residential compound have to do five rounds of COVID-19 tests during the 14 days.

There have been 671 confirmed cases in Shanghai and the outbreak has been linked to when passengers arriving from Hong Kong were quarantined in a hotel with central ventilation which caused staff members to be infected.

The video shows residents are not allowed to leave their residential compound for 14 days and line up to get COVID test after their residential compound is quarantined in Shanghai, China.

Residents who live in the same building with those who confirmed positive are not allowed to leave their buildings as well. Warning line has been set up in front of the entrance of the quarantined building. Necessities for living would be delivered to the building in every hour from 8am to 8pm by volunteers.

According to local authority, all residents in the quarantined residential compound have to do 5 rounds of COVID tests during the 14 days.

So far there’re 671 confirmed cases in Shanghai and the recent outbreak has been reported to be related to authority’s management oversight in earlier March when passengers arriving in Shanghai from Hong Kong were quarantined in a hotel with central ventilation which caused staffs infected.
