This is the heartbreaking moment a Covid-19 positive father begged government workers to take care of his baby as he was about to be imprisoned in an isolation facility in China.

Footage shows the desperate carrying his three-month-old son while standing on a table as he asked officers for a favour in Shanghai on May 6.

The unidentified father-of-two reportedly refused to leave until he was assured that someone would take care of his three-month-old son and six-year-old daughter who was left at home.

He was about to be taken to an isolation centre with his wife after they were both found to have been positive but claimed that no one would take care of their children.

Harsh Covid-19 measures have been implemented by the government in Shanghai after Chinese President Xi Jinping demanded a ‘dynamic zero-Covid’ situation.

However, the government’s push to control infections led to tensions between residents and enforcers citing ‘inhumane’ policies such as fierce lockdowns to the point of starving residents inside homes and physical steel barriers like cages to keep people from leaving.
