My car was parked un attended in a public car park in my home town of wigan where my child was doing a dance class.
Soon afterwards a Tesla driver drove into the car park after.
He dropped off a passenger then reversed to park.
In doing so he hits my parked car causing substantial damage.
He destroyed the front bumper, nearside wing and the nearside headlight, the headlight brackets had all been snapped off completely.
After hitting my car he pulled forward slightly to check the damage to both vehicles .
He must have decided his car was not too badly damaged because he got back into his Tesla and proceeded to park on the other side of my car to make himself seem innocent.
Luckily in my car I fitted a good dashcamera set up and caught all of this on video and the fact the tesla driver sat inside his vehicle long afterwards and made zero effort to leave a note or go inside the building to ask who's car was hit.
A short while later , the passenger returns to his Tesla and he quickly drives away leaving the scene without making any effort to communicate with us about the damage.
The car has gone in for repair and luckily is not being written off which I was worried about , I only bought the car 5 months earlier.
The insurance and police were made aware by myself of the incident and his insurance will be contacted by my insurance.
This goes to show how invaluable a dashcamera can be and also it isn't always who you would expect to damage your vehicle does. Personally I'd have never guessed someone in a car like a Tesla would do this , they complain about brand jealousy and Teslas being targeted by other jealous drivers but then this happens.
