Surge tide and bitterly-cold strong north-easterly winds batter Kent, UK
Strong north-easterly winds and a surge tide in the Thames Estuary battered the coastal town of Sheerness in Kent, UK this afternoon (April 1).
Footage shows benches at the end of Neptune Jetty being battered by the wind, waves and surging tide - which raised sea levels nearly half a metre higher than the predicted tide.
