This is the heartwarming moment five stray puppies were rescued after being trapped under construction concrete beams for five days in northern Thailand.

Resident Amuay Jang was driving home when she heard the puppies' cries near the construction site in Phitsanulok province on July 28.

Concerned, Amuay went to the spot and saw the five puppies wiggling between the tight concrete gaps, trying but unable to escape.

Amuay hired crane services to lift the concrete beams, before asking the men to carry the pooches out one by one.

Amuay said: ‘I believe they have been stuck there for about five days. One of the residents told me they saw a mother dog and puppies five days ago and heard them, so they think that's when they were left.

'The puppies all looked very hungry. One of them even had its head stuck in between the gaps.’

The puppies were rescued and given for adoption to a local in the area.
