The railing around the deck of our cottage is the perfect spot to place peanuts for the blue jays and chipmunks. We put down handfuls of peanuts at a time, and the blue jays swoop in, often more jays than there are peanuts! Chippy as we call him, also loves peanuts and shares with the blue jays. One of my favorite things about the jays is that sometimes, they just cannot make up their mind about which peanut they want! They pick one up, put it down, then try another, then another. You can clearly see that in this video when a jay tries about 8 different peanuts before finally making his choice!
