On the occasion of "World Environment Day", International Sand Artist, Mr. Manas Kumar Sahoo, has created a beautiful Sand Art on the Golden Sea Beach of Puri near the lighthouse.

Mr. Manas has created his sand art based on this year's theme, "Only One Earth". He tries to convey that by adding chemicals to the soil we are polluting & thereby decreasing its fertility. Protecting the soil will make our environment greener and healthier thus allowing the future generations a healthy place to live in.

In his Sand Art he has portrayed two faces of the world. One face depicts a greener environment and the other depicts the world with a polluted soil and environment.

He took 7 hours to create this 15 feet wide sand sculpture in which about 12 tons of sand has been used. In it, he conveys his messages which read as "World Environment Day" and " Save Soil " carved in it.
