Child pinned to the ground by falling iron gate on parent's driveway
A child was pinned to the ground by a falling iron gate on his parent's driveway.
The boy dragged the heavy sliding gate to close but it slipped off its ground rail and fell onto him in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand on June 26.
CCTV video footage shows how the youngster was shouting for help while being stuck under the structure until his mum was seen rushing out to help.
The boy suffered a broken left arm bone and was rushed to the hospital where he underwent an operation.
Mother Atthaya Plaiphu said: 'I felt sorry for my son because I told him to close the gate myself. This was a lesson for me which I will remember for all my life.'
The boy's surgery was successful but he will have to undergo physical therapy for at least six months before his arm returns to normal.
To prevent similar incidents in the future, the family had the iron gate removed and replaced with a new one.
