A long queue of vehicles were seen on the road and outside a gas station in Sri Lanka.

The incident took place outside the Indian Oil Corporation gas station in Galewela town on July 7.

Visuals showed a heavy traffic jam on the road and outside the gas station. A few policemen were also seen outside the gas station trying to control the crowd.

There have been many rules imposed including banning fuel for private vehicles for at least a week.

According to reports, the Sri Lankan government's fuel is already finished for public distribution. Sri Lanka’s energy minister has said the country’s fuel supplies will run out in a few days, forcing nationwide school closures and prolonged power cuts.

Auto drivers are forced to spend days lining up before they start working again. They are seen carrying pillows, changes of clothes, and water while waiting for the fuel.

Indian Oil Corporation is the only company distributing fuel in the country presently.
