This little boy impressed gym-goers as he lifted heavy weights like a professional.

Eight-year-old Aj Diaz performed the clean and jerk using a 30-kg barbell at a gym in Zamboanga City, the Philippines on July 16.

His aunt, Mary Flor, said the child began weightlifting when he was five.

She said: 'I hope he studies hard and enjoys his training. Maybe someday he can enter the national team, compete internationally, and bring home medals for the country.

'He just needs to listen to his coach and be disciplined. We are always here to guide him.'

Aj comes from a family of weightlifters, including Hidilyn Diaz, who made history in the Philippines for bagging the country's first-ever Olympic gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics last year. She took the top spot in the women's 55-kg class after lifting a combined total of 224 kilos.
