A driver in Troitsk, Russia, learned the hard way why playing with lighters while filling your car up is a bad idea.

In the incident on 30 July, he lit his lighter while at a petrol pump when the inevitable happened.

Seeing the flames, the man panicked and pulled the handle of the pump out of his car, spraying the flaming fluid over the car and his clothes.

Eventually he manages to put out the flames on his clothes and jumps into his car to drive off, with clearly visible fire damage to the rear of the vehicle.

He then returned to put out the fire.

According to preliminary information, he did not receive serious burns.

While refueling the car, the man took out a lighter and lit it, being at that moment near the sleeve with gasoline, because of which the fire broke out next to him. Frightened, the unfortunate driver pulled out a tube with fuel from the gas tank, and the flames spread to clothes, vehicles and the gas station area.
