Saltivka is one of the largest residential areas of Kharkiv in northeast Ukraine. It is also the most heavily shelled neighbourhood.

Video filmed on Thursday (August 4) shows apartment blocks in Saltivka heavily damaged after being hit by Russian missiles.

"The Saltivka neighbourhood in the northern part of Ukraine’s second-largest city has been reduced to a ruin and a ghost town after months of heavy bombardment by Russian military," Newsflare's filmer said.

"This neigbourhood is a mere 45km from the Russian border and even closer to Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine, well within range of Russian rocket launchers and missiles.

"Kharkiv has been bombed every day since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, which has resulted in many areas of the city being destroyed."
