Turkish firefighting aircraft have joined the efforts to extinguish a blaze in Borjomi, Georgia.
An aircraft with an 8-ton tank is being operated by crews to help put out the wildfire.
As part of the international assistance, in the Borjomi municipality, a firefighting plane with an 8-ton tank of the Republic of Turkey has been involved in the process of processing fire sectors since morning.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, today, two more specialized firefighting aircraft will be involved in the fire fighting.
"In Borjomi Municipality, the fire localization and liquidation works were carried out continuously throughout the night. Employees of various departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, as well as the relevant services of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture actively participate in the process of extinguishing the fire. Border police helicopters resumed their work in the morning.

Due to high temperature and wind, foci of different complexity are still fixed on the ground. Access roads to almost all active hubs with heavy machinery and tractors have already been laid.
All relevant fire-rescue vehicles have been mobilized. Drones continue to monitor the fire.
The operational management headquarters, headed by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Ioseb Chelidze, and the Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, Temur Mgebrishvili, will continue to work on the ground," the information states.
The military personnel are distributed in the direction of the village of Dvir to the east of the disaster zone, and despite the difficulty of the task and the terrain, they are successfully handling the tasks at this stage.
According to the information of the Ministry of Defense, in the process of putting out the fire, personnel of the command of logistical support of troops and the 1st brigade of the Eastern command and the rapid response radiation, chemical and biological protection company of the combat engineering battalion are participating. The military is trying to localize the fire with the help of special equipment - tracked all-terrain fire-rescue equipment MTLB, water tankers and high-terrain fire trucks.
"The Defense Forces of Georgia have been actively participating in fire extinguishing works in the disaster zone for the third day already. In Borjomi Municipality, in order to prevent a natural disaster and to effectively implement fire fighting actions, the defense forces were involved in the process by the order of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili", the information says.
