Forest fires continued to ravage Turkey, particularly in Canakkale and Tekirdag provinces on July 18.

Governor Ilhami Aktas of Canakkale reported that strong winds have fueled the fires.

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense stated: 'We provide aerial support to the firefighting efforts in Canakkale with 2 S-70 and 3 AS-532 Cougar type helicopters belonging to our Land Forces.'

The firefighting operations include six aircraft, 15 helicopters, 109 water sprinklers, 14 heavy equipment units, and 543 personnel.

Officials said the wildfires have been exacerbated by the intense temperatures Turkey has experienced since last week.

The nation, which seeks to increase its forested areas, faces a heightened threat of fires, especially during the summer season.

Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious and cooperate with emergency responders as they continue their relentless efforts to battle the ongoing fires.
